Rahul Gandhi is an Indian politician and the head of the Indian National Congress. He was born on June 19, 1970, in Delhi (Congress Party). He is the Son of Rajiv Gandhi, great-grandson of Jawaharlal Nehru, and the grandson of Indira Gandhi, all of whom were Indian prime ministers at the time of his birth. Sonia Gandhi, his mother, also held a prominent position within the Congress Party.

Before enrolling at The Doon School in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from 1981 to 1983, he attended St. Columba’s School in Delhi. Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka were homeschooled after Indira Gandhi’s murder for security reasons.

He enrolled in St. Stephen’s College in Delhi in 1989 to pursue his graduate degree, and after a year there, he transferred to Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. When the Tamil Tigers (LTTE) assassinated Rajiv Gandhi in 1991 during an election rally, he was moved for security reasons to Rollins College in Florida, USA, where he went by the alias “Rahul Vinci” to conceal his identity.

He earned his bachelor’s in arts from Rollins College in 1994. His M.Phil. was earned at Trinity College in Cambridge, England.

He is a member of the Indian National Congress, and from 16 December 2017 to 3 July 2019, he presided over the organization as its president. Gandhi serves as the chair of the National Students Union of India, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, and the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust. He is also a trustee for these organizations.
